Business tips day again. We’ve been thinking about a step by step plan on how you can rise your business from anonymity to something that actually gets customers, and this is what we’ve come up with. No long talk, just doable steps that you should follow if you’re serious about your business:
Step 1) Think of a few keywords that would best define your business.
Write these down as you’re going to need them later.
E.g. If you’re helping people manage their time use: time management, project management, planning, time saver.
Step 2) Join Loopthing.
After filling in your profile make sure you have your site’s URL, emailĀ and phone number up on your page. This is key information people need in order to get in touch to generate those sale you want.
Things to have in mind:
- make sure your business covers as many business industries as possible, Loopthing allows you to put your business in up to five business industry categories after you sign up
- tag your business using the keywords you selected initially, put specific tags on the media files you’re uploading on Loopthing
- add everyone you know, or you consider it’s a good contact as your friend – good for exposure and branding
- join and create networks that are specific to your area of activity (this means getting seen as an active and interested business having things to share)
- upload media materials, comment on other media material/profiles – this gets you seen, don’t spam though.
- should we mention that you need your logo uploaded for branding purposes? If you don’t have one, just approach a designer from the it/web design business industry on Loopthing
- use the private messaging feature to get connected with both businesses and individuals
Here’s a screenshot of how the “business industries selecting” page looks like:
All this can be done easily, and it will ensure pretty good exposure throughout the whole site. If you establish yourself as an open to business communication, you’ll see things growing immensely over time.
Step 3) Join Twitter
Right after joining, you can also download a Twitter client such as TweetDeck to increase productivity while you check out Twitter.
Things to have in mind:
- use the keywords you initially defined, to find people interested in the same topics. This is the starting point of the whole twitter social interaction
- follow these people you find and start communicating, they may then become followers and customers.
- if you get followers, it’s good, if not, you’re not doing the right thing. Learn from other successful people and businesses inside your area of interest, and apply that to your profile
Twitter is an incredible tool, it is used by celebrities, presidents, royal members and many businesses, who together with the masses have the power. So join up and tap that resource for business growth.
Step 4) Start your own company blog.
It’s not that hard to get one up, you can ask a friend, or research it by yourself, using your favorite search engine.
Things to have in mind:
- design an about us page, tell your story, share your twitter and your Loopthing profile URL
- write posts on topics you extract from discussions on Twitter and Loopthing. Let those people know about your new post via tweets, as a thanks for inspiring your new blog post, it can lead to many things
- if you’re relating to other people blog posts, use the trackback feature
- comment on other blogs, don’t spam – all you want is interaction and come up with your honest point of view
- submit your blog to RSS search engines/directories, and to blog sites (MyBlogLog is very powerful as an example)
Step 5) Go to meetings specific to your niche
Things to have in mind:
- make friends there, it’s easier to stay connected after meeting people
- establish future endeavors
- build your image there, the “karma” people see around you will be carried in their minds when reconnecting online
- get seen and draw new people into your social bubble
Keep in mind that all this activity will help you build your self propelled momentum. Now the power is in your hand, and you’re quickly becoming an exposure generation expert.
